I'm still making Texas cards. Here's one I really like. The background stamp is one that Sharon found @ a thrift shop. Wish I'd be s lucky!

This is a spinner card that I made for shoe box. I finally figured out how to do it. This one spins well. The border is a Stamp In The Hand stamp that I borrowed from Sharon. Lots of possibilities with this stamp

This is the card that Denise made for our shoe box group using the Tim Holtz crazy birds. We stamped the wing twice using on to hold and hide the strings. Clever!

we had shoe box on Wednesday. Here's the card I made. Our other shoe box group meets on Sat. and I have my cards done. Really rare for me.

Here are two stamps I used that Sharon let me borrow to make Texas cards. The ink is a Kaleidacolor pad called Creole Spice. Love it!

This Texas birdhouse is a stamp by Jamnstamps & I think that is a part of Texana Designs. It was fun to color. The Howdy is an alphabet set that I rarely use. I had to try a couple of times to get it lined up but it came out OK.

I really like this stamp. When I first got it, it challenged me but I have found that I reach for it often. I wasn't sure that the black would be over powering but it turned out to be elegant looking (IMHO). The embossed background added a lot.

I have been working on some Texas cards for the gift shop. Here's a Mexican Hat. I think I got the colors right. I used brown and red markers. I want to make a set of wild flower note cards.

Look at this great fun fold card that Marcy sent me for her swap card. The oval is made using two dies. It's on my list to try!

This was also a swap card from Pam. Love the image and beautiful coloring.

Today I am showing you a swap card I received in the mail from Sharon. Love the way the flowers are cut out along the border. Nice colors also!

Here's one of my swap cards. I love this paper. This is a fun card to make. You could use it with all kinds of shapes.

Here's a birthday card I made for a friend. Trying to use up some of the older stuff in my stash (ribbon). Had trouble getting on this morning. Too much rain I guess.

Friday, August 12, 2016

This was one of my swap cards. I have seen lots of window cards recently so decided to get a di. I have made a couple of cards but can't imagine that I will use it much. Maybe for Christmas cards, we'll see.

Here's Lorraine's birthday card. I used Botanical Blooms die. I put two pieces of cardboard in the middle to cut out the border. I tried to do each side separately but could not line it up right. This let the underside indented but it did not matter because I covered it up with the orange card stock. I used the belly band because it would not stay closed. I'm going to play around with that again some time soon.

Here's another birthday card I made for a friend. I colored the images with markers. I find I really like most shades of green and blue together.

This is a card I sent to my friend in Arizona. Easy, a little grunge, washi tape and sequins.

I made this fun fold card for a friend for her birthday. Calypso Coral & white.I finally got my swap cards in the mail on sat. I must have left my mojo in California!

I made this spinner card for our great grandson's second birthday. It turned out really cute. I didn't get a good picture of it however.

Thursday, August 4, 2016

Isn't this a sweet little elephant? Pam made this card for one of our shoe box exchanges. Finally got one of my swap cards made yesterday. Hope to get the other one done today. Nice patterned paper.

This is an interesting design that Sharon made for shoe box. We made a small slit in the circles to intertwine them. Nice masculine card.

I am back after 3 weeks. Talked with Trever last night and made me want to get back on a plane. He worked from home yesterday. Has an appointment with the infectious disease doctor today. Sure hope his numbers are down enough so that he can get the knee joint replacement. He is sure that surgery will be easier than the first one. I never have a problem going west but coming back gets me really out of sorts. I tend to sleep more when I need to be up and moving & I'm not hungry @ meal time and then I could eat a bear @ 10:00 o'clock. That I try not to do because I have really weird dreams when I eat late. I'm not sure what cards I have shown you so please bear with me. I made a couple of cards yesterday for August birthdays but still need to get my swap cards done. Here's a card Denise did for one of our shoe box get togethers. We colored the back of the vellum on the butterfly. I love that technique and hardly ever use it. Love the soft colors on this one.
