Here's the guy card version of kick up your heels.  Same layout with color changes.

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Denise made two cards one guy card and a  girlie one just by changing the colors. Very clever! .   Here's the girlie one. We used markers to color the boot. I couldn't see it well enough to make a good impression.  Denise ended up doing it for me.  Check out all the colors we used on the boot and all the layers.  Love it!

I loved the cards we made in shoe box so I am going to show them to you.  This one is the one Julie designed.  She says guy cards are hard for her.  She certainly scored on this one!  All StampinUp products.

This is my shoe box card that we made last week.  I tried to case a card, took me 2 1/2 hours and the only resemblance to that card is the same stamp and the same colors.  I could probably have made a card faster on my own! I used water color paper and water color crayons to color the flower.

I received this Valentine from Sharon as her swap card this month.  Love the shiny paper and the design of this card!  I spent yesterday afternoon cleaning out the cabinets and reorganizing.  Why do you have to make a mess to do this kind of thing?  I've been in my new stamp room long enough to have to do that in my closets there too.

Here's another Valentine that I had I had in my stash.   Remember when the corner punch thing was so popular?  It snowed here until noon yesterday and then by 2:00 it was gone.

Another pink and black Valentine.  I love this little DeNami heart stamp that I have had for years.  We got up to snow this morning and still going strong.  Shoots the trip to the stamp convention since we don't know what the road conditions are up north.  Saves Joe a  bunch of money!  I am disappointed but do I really need any more supplies?

Here's a card I made several years ago when I took a class.  Of course it is StampinUp and retired.  Too cutesy  for me but I do like the colors.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

I made this pink an black Valentine.   I made one similar to this many years ago.  I  like the black hearts stamped  with white ink.  Shoe box today.  Gotta run and get this messy room cleaned up this morning!  We missed Dec. so  I am anxious to see Julie and Denise.

I am pretty sure this card was made by Liz.  The puffed up heart is fabric that is stuffed.  Great card! I love to participate in card swaps, you get so many great ideas. I am working on some necklaces to put in the gift shop.  Sure do wish I could get in the car and go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's in 20 minutes!.  I need some end caps but I can't tell on the net if they have a hole in the top.

I went through some old Valentines,  some I'll put in Alex's goodie box and some will be donated to the gift shop.  Some of these cards were received in swaps.  I'll give credit when I know but the memory banks are quite old so that is unlikely!  This one I recycled.  It was an all white card that I used the front and added it to an A2 pink base.

Here's an easel Valentine.  I popped up the red punched border piece so that the easel would stand up well.  The stamp set is from StampinUp called  Much Love I think.

This card came together very quickly.  The stamps are from a retired StampinUp set.  The hearts are a Spellbinders die.

My masculine Valentine.  Reminds me how much I miss making birthday cards  for the Veterans @ the VA hospital.  This is soft suede, ivory and navy.

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Here's one of the Valentines I made.  Looking for a heart punch and saw this one that I can't remember ever using.  Quick, simple and easy! We rearranged some things in the gift shop yesterday.  I need to go down and vacuum and straighten up the desk area today.

I only have one birthday card to make for January.  I am working on some Valentines to sent to our grandson and his unit who are in Afghanistan.  I want to sent a box of goodies and I thought maybe they would like to send  Valentines home.  That will be harder than I thought.  I don't know anything about his unit, age, etc. This is not my favorite card, sometimes your ideas just don't play out on paper. Crumb Cake and black.

I made this thank you card for Pam.  The ribbon looks much better in real time.  This thank you stamp is my "go to" from now on.  I really like it.

Thursday, January 8, 2015

A thank you note for Sharon.  This is a nice font.  It's a clear stamp so I have no idea who made it. I have  a tear drop punch that I used to make the center of the flower. Doesn't look like the same paper but it is.   Still plugging away on the recipes.  Bet that takes @ least 2 months. Gotta do some cleaning and laundry today.  Too cold to get out so I want to be productive.

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

I've made some thank you cards for Christmas gifts I received.  I made this one for Denise who is in Michigan helping with her parents who have health issues.  She's freezing her tail off so I thought I'd get out my sweat shirt stamp and use it.  It's a Too Much Fun stamp that I bought @ a convention.  Good name for this company because they really do have some fun stamps!

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Here's another December birthday card, made using the dryer sheet/glitter.  I stamped off the trees on  each side. Almost Artichoke and  Ivory.  I need to get down to the Point today and pack up the Christmas stuff and maybe put a few more recipes on the flash drive.  We talked to our grandson in Afghanistan over the holidays which was fun. Don't know exactly how Keely did that but she used her phone  & we could see him too. I think I will make some Valentines and send them for he and his unit to send home and make some goodies too.  He requested Creme de Mint brownies but that is cream cheese and I don't think they would be any good  when they arrived.  Gotta put on my thinking cap for that!  Have a happy day!

Monday, January 5, 2015

Here's a card I made for a December birthday. I used a couple of embossing folders and popped up the second layer.  Can't see it in the picture but on  the snowflake I used Stickles.  I have two categories done on my quest to put my recipes on a flash drive. This is a very time consuming project.  I am going to try to work on it every day.  We'll see!

Happy New Year to each of you.  My wish for you is that 2015 is the best year yet!  I have no great resolutions except I am going to learn to text.  I have resisted  that  mode of communication but I have decided to get on that bandwagon.  Seems the only way to communicate these  days.

I started putting my recipes on a flash drive or whatever it is called.  That will surely take  all of 2015 with all the recipes I have.

I will start posting again Monday, I just needed a break.

I am going to the stamp convention @ the end of the month in Plano.  Haven't been to one in several years.  I look forward to seeing what's new out there.

Have a great day!
