Here's Joe's birthday card. He'll be my age tomorrow. Didn't do anything special yesterday for my birthday. I woke up still breathing so I guess that means it was a good day!ha! I don't think I have every used this color combo but I like it. Chocolate chip and more mustard.

I had better get going showing my VA cards for Sept. because I need to start thinking about the Oct. VA birthdays. Anyway, here is a card I did using something from the plumbing dept. @ Lowe's. I think it is called sheeting. Marilyn brought it to a meeting @ the point. It is sticky on one side. I ran it through the bug with an embossing folder or maybe she did, I am not sure. Anyway, I used it to make this card.Anyway, you have see4n this DeNami cupcake before.

Sorry I am so late in posting today. We had our annual salad luncheon and membership drive. Normally everyone brings a salad but I assigned everyone something to bring and we had a giant salad bar. That worked well. Here are two of the magnets I made. The ivory one is an embossing folder and the second one is figured paper. The design is basically the same but look very different.

I did a very simple invitation for the Auxiliary's annual membership drive. I bought this paper a long time ago. It is at Michaels and they still have it. It's a box of card fronts and envelopes and I think it was half price when I bought it. Normally it is $9.99. The die is a new one called Tiffany's frame. I love it. I plan to use it on my christmas cards but applying glue 60 plus times seems daunting. I may invest in a Xyron machine. I had one years ago but it was so hard to load that I just got rid of it in one of our moves.

I had to make a sympathy card. This stamp is so nice. I don't use it much because it is so large. It's by The Cottage Stamper and I have no idea if that co. is still around or even where I got this stamp. If I were Pam or Sharon I would color it but I'm not so I just stamp it. Maybe when I get all my projects done for the bazaar I will practice coloring. I really like to use this stamp on white paper with a dark ink, colbolt blue or purple and then put a piece of vellum over it and then stamp a sentiment on the vellum. That's a nice soft look. The vellum that I have now is too thick and so that did not work because you could not see the stamped image very well. Anyway it's mailed so here it is.

A few posts back I said I really liked the new StampinUp folder Fancy Fan and I thought it looked a lot like a background stamp from Hero Arts called lattice & I was considering putting the two together. Here's the results. I did this card for one of my VA birthday cards. I like it!

Here's a card I did for the VA guys. Not exactly my best color choice. The dark green paper is from Marvy and I used every scrap I had left. I put down a couple of green distress inks and some yellow, misted it and then covered a tag. I can't find my craft sheet so I used waxed paper. You can also use butcher paper. I then misted the tag with some glimmer mist I made. I used equal parts of alchol and distilled water and added some powdered pearl-x. This doesn't show up on my picture but it is just like the real stuff. The dragon fly is an unmounted stamp that I bought @ the first convention I attended.

I finished making my VA birthday cards yesterday. It is always a relief to do so. I took my wind chime down to the point yesterday. Everybody really liked it. I was pleased needless to say. Here's a VA birthday card I did. The stamp is by Magenta. I like it because you can cut it apart or only use one of the images. Colors are navy, red and s. sand. The navy ink is one of my favorites, Fresco Indigo Velvet. The brown I use so much is also Fresco Amaretto Truffle.

I worked on some cards yesterday for the VA birthdays. Didn't get them all done but I am covered for at least another week & will get them done by next Thurs. when Joe goes out to volunteer. My day was spent mostly moving from the chair to the bed but my cold is better. I hope to get some energy back soon. I have so many projects going, I think I need to just focus on one at a time to get them done. This card is again the Coronado Island stamp 3 graces. The ink is Adirondack Slate. Looks brown to me but it is the only gray I have. I have had this corner punch for ever and the silver cord will probably last me for the rest of my life. I can never get the cord wrapped to suit me but I like the look.

Here's a couple of pictures of the wind chime. It does make a little noise but not as much as I hoped. If I hung it here @ the house I am sure the neighbors would be happy that it doesn't make much noise even though our houses are far apart. I'm a hanger on so I plan to take it down to the point and get the light & sound production guy to give me some pointers on how to make it chime or at least to give me some tips on how to get the next one to "sound off". I love the shot gun shells and the little mug that says "don't mess with Texas" & the "steamer" parts that the shells are hanging from, a contribution from Sharon. There's a lot of stuff there. I think Joe thinks it is junky & I think it is funky. You guys be the judge!

I intended to post yesterday that Joe & I were celebrating our 51st. year together. Seems impossible. I worked at finishing my first wind chime. I really like the results. It is Texas themed and I am hoping to sell it in the gift shop. I think that I mentioned that Pam and I went to Sharon's and she got us started on the "how to's". She is such a talented person & lots of fun to be around. Last night we went out on the patio with drinks in hand, hung the wind chime so we could hear it. Yikes, it didn't make much noise and so I either have to figure out a way to add a striker or "bill" it as a mobile. Joe's going to take a picture of it and I will post it for y'all can see. Have a great Labor Day!
This card was designed by Sharon for shoe box. I was wiped out because I spent days @ the point working on a buffet for the opening of Stonehedge II & Taming of the shrew. I totally messed it up. First we used a hero Arts shadow stamp. I stamped that crooked. Got the saying crooked too. I decided I could just turn it over and try again. WRONG! I took that off the base and got another piece of crumb cake and here's the results. All my stamps are smaller than hers were. I do not have decorative sissors so I tore the edges. Not nearly as nice as Sharons original card but at least I can use it.
