Covering my mistakes

I made this card because I got the red strip too high up on the card when I was making the waterfall card. I couldn't move the strip down because I had used the brads and you would see the holes. Anyway, I turned the card sideways and made this card as one of my April VA birthday cards.

Last card for card class

I decided to do a waterfall card. They are amazing. I watched a video and made the card sample and cut out the kits. A senior moment caused me to forget where to glue the waterfall piece. Thanks to Denise we figured it out. That part always confuses me. The colors are Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler and white. The Pocket Silhouettes is a perfect set to use. For the class I used a 2 inch square Cherry Cobbler to mount the flowers. It looked more finished than this sample.

card class

Here's another card we made in card class Celia showed us this card fold in one of our shoe boxes. I'm not sure what it is called. It is simple but seems to wow people. The paper is not red, not orange just a paper that appealed to me. Can you believe I had the ribbon in my stash and it went very well. The flowers are a Heartfelt Designs that I got @ the last convention I attended. I bought the Spellbinders die that matches. DON'T BOTHER! No matter how I try the die never matches the stamped image. I put the die over the stamped image and think I have it right but no, it never works, I'll use the die & the stamps, just not together! The ink I used is fired brick. I stamped off and it really is a match to the paper.

Sue's birthday card

Here's a card I made for a special friend for her birthday. The paper is Marina Mist and Cherry Cobbler and white. The background hounds tooth is a stamp from Heritage Farms which is now out of business. Too bad because they had some great background stamps that are 6x6 I think. I use the stamp press with these and it works very well if you make sure to press firmly in the middle. It's a great tool. I like this so much that it is one of the cards we used in my class.

Stamp Class

Here is a card we made in stamp class. It is Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze. The patterned squares are left over scraps that I had. This is as close to quilting as I will ever get!

A card for spring

Here's a card I made for Spring. Love the yellow and blue together. The background stamp is a Hero Arts stamp that I have not used in a long time. I colored the stamp with markers to get the 3 colors. The rose bouquet is also Hero Arts. I have never done a ribbon embellishment like this before but I like it.

Here's a pretty simple card I did using Rose Red, Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy. I truly love playing around with colors

Here's a sympathy card I made using black, Marina Mist and white. The flower stamp is from a set that I forgot I had. It is called small flowers. Must be time to review what I have if I forgot I had this set. The sentiment is computer generated.

Cherry Cobbler, Black & white dots again!

Good Morning:

Here's a card I made for a VA birthday. I just love this color combo. Good thing I did not have many cards to make for the guys this month. Just could not get my creative juices going. This stamp is a DeNami. You can barely see the red brad. In real time it looks good. I like this design you'll see it again soon I am sure!

Get Well card

Here's another card I made for the sunshine committee. This is another of the set of 4 Hero Arts stamps that they brought back. Hero Arts stamps really stamp nicely. Navy, yellow and white. Great color combo.

Here's another sympathy card using white on white. I like that look. The stamps are from Stampin Up.

Monday, March 7, 2011

Here's a sympathy card I made for the point. It is like the birthday card I posted a few days ago. I thought it would make a really nice sympathy card. I resized it so I could put the sentiment on the front. I love the font on this clear stamp. It is from My Sentiments exactly.

I made some cards for the Sunshine committee. Here's a card I did using Cherry Cobbler and yellow. The stamp is an old Hero Arts one and the sentiment is from Stampin Up. I used this background stamp recently. It's one I will never get tired of.

Best of the bunch!

Today I am showing the last of the 4 cards we made in my card class. I love it! I used to do this technique a lot and sorta forgot about it until I saw one on Split Coast. I love that Marina Mist and I used Barely Banana. Can't figure out why they did away with that color. Anyway, this card was made using Fast and Fabulous set. I stamped on white cs the flower and then stamped the petals. I laid a piece of vellum over the image and stamped the flower just slightly off. I am not sure how it shows but it is a soft and pretty look I think. This would be a nice sympathy card. Hummmm I will work on that as I am making some cards for the Sunshine committee @ the point.

Third card we made in my card class. It is Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake and Not Quite Navy. I really like these colors together. I tried Elegant Eggplant but thought it was too bright. The EF is Vintage Wallpaper & the stamp is from two step stamping, Awash with Flowers.
