Love this color combo

Good Morning:

I am among the living!! That's the good news. I am still finding bruises and muscles I did not know I had. I'm just lucky I did not break my neck or hip.

Here is the card I designed for shoe box last week. The colors are perfect plum, not quite navy and crumb cake. The embossing folder is a Cuttlebug one and the Nestie is Eyelet Circles. I used a sponge dabber in elegant eggplant and not quite navy to sponge the edges of the flowers. Really made a difference. This color combo is one I just played with. I like it a lot and will use it again. I first tried with elegant eggplant and it did not work as well as the perfect plum.

What fold is this?

This is a card we made @ Celia's. The original was in shades of purple. I don't know what this fold is called. but I really liked it. Pink and brown is a nice color combo, don't you think?

Hero Arts flower

I used this layout in a masculine card a few days back. Decided to use it again using softer colors. I used a blender pen to color the flower. The colors are So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant and Certainly Celery. I'm off to Mesquite to the stamping convention. My friend in Georgetown went to the one last weekend in Irvine. Said everything was $25 so the money did not go far! We'll see. I'll report back on Monday.

Gambel Quail

This stamp has no manufacturers label on it. I bought it when I first started stamping. I love to stamp it on cork. The colors I used on the border punch are way out of my comfort zone, more mustard and old olive. I think it works. If you look closely you will see that I stamped the grass in 2 colors so the quail don't look like they are floating across the cork. I really miss seeing them. When their babies are new they look like walnuts with legs. Twice daily they would bring their babies through our yard. Loved watching them grow from babies to teens to young adults. One year a family of 17 did their daily visits. Unfortunately the numbers diminished to 14, then 12 and then at last 10 survived. Such fun to watch every day.

Masculine card

Here's a card I made that I really like. Don't have any idea what color this green is but it goes really well with the striped double sided paper. The pinwheel is easy to make and I have made it for kids birthdays a by just using different paper.

VA Birthday card

Good Morning:

Celia was kind enough to help me change some settings on my blog so hopefully leaving a comment will be easier.
Here's a card I made for my VA guys. I love this red checked paper. It is from Amuse and comes in a variety of colors. This stamp is one of those "fall back to" when I need to get a quick card done. It is Art Impressions from Salem, Oregon. I don't have a clue where I got it. I embossed it using Versamark and red embossing powder.

I played with the Vintage Vogue set again. I love that delicate little swirl. I did not even notice it at first. The colors are bashful blue, old olive and very vanilla. The embossing folder is Quickkutz. Busy day today . . . just the way I like it!

Another birthday card for the VA

This cake stamp is a set that is retired from StampinUp. I think it is called Birthday Whimsy. I loved this striped paper. I think I got it from the scrapbook store here that closed a long time ago. I wish I had a better way to store the 12 by 12 paper so I know what I have. Anyway, I think it turned out well. Yesterday I made a couple more cards for the VA that I think turned out well too. Some days are better than others!

Eggplant and Baja Breeze

Here's a card I made just playing with these colors. I like to have a few cards with out any sentiment, then when I need a card in a hurry, I can add a saying, finish the inside and get it in the mail.
