We had shoe box on Sat. and the theme was clouds. Here's a card I did. I love the clouds with that embossing folder. I learned this fold from Celia, even though I can't remember what it is called. You can free hand the clouds or be chicken like me and find a pattern on the net. I have had this saying for a long time. I think it works well for get well cards. Here's inside and out. Can you see the clouds in the background on the front? I took a dobber and Moonlight White ink and just used a circular motion and then feathered it out. The other card I made I did the same thing. It shows better.

Here's a card I made for Julie in Tucson. I used all leftovers. I tried this flower a month or so ago and just never used it. It is watercolor paper. I smeared Distress inks in blue & green on my silicon mat and spritzed it with water and just layed the petals (die cut) on top. Kinda played with the petals and let them dry. The petals are held together with glue dots. It turned out rather nice I thought. The background was one I did some time back. I brayered Baja on smooth card stock them added direct to paper a little of my favorite brown ink, Amaretto Truffle, then ran it through the bug using Vintage Wallpaper.

My friend in Tucson recently had a heart valve replacement. I am so happy that she came through that OK. I have been trying to send her a card once in awhile. Here's one I sent last week. It's Hero Arts and you have seen it before. It's cherry so I decided to send it. I've got another in the pipeline that I will show after it arrives in Tucson.

Generous Celia gave everyone paper after K.A.R.S. was over. She is so thoughtful, she gave me masculine looking paper. Right up my alley since I do so many masuline cards. I made this card for the VA birthdays. Very simple & quick to put together. Double sided DS sure takes the guess work out of matching paper!

I made this birthday card using the Paper Impressions stamp that was still on my desk. I don't think I have ever embossed with this stamp. Now I know why. It was hard to get the small words to not look blurry. I have been having a hard time with embossing since we moved here. I don't know if it is the humidity or what. I use the anti static buddy thing but still get little flicks of powder here and there. Guess my new plan of action is emboss and cut out! My black & white dotted paper jumped out of the scrap drawer again. I buy it @ Hobby Lobby. I hope they always carry it. Here's the card, hope you like it.

I hope you had a nice 4th. We stayed home and ate corn on the cob, steak and watermelon. Isn't that what you are supposed to do on the 4th?
I have been working on my VA cards and I made this one yesterday using a new set I bought from the mini catalog. It's called The Open Sea. It will get a lot of use I think. Vanilla and black. I think the background is stamped upside down. Did not notice that until it was assembled. Oh well, I guess the sea was topsy turvey!

Here's another version of the birthday stamp. I really like yellow and gray together. Again I have used the "banner" of paper instead of using ribbon. I need to work on my VA birthday cards. I picked up the list yesterday. First one is the 17th so I have some time. This flower is in a long gone StampinUp set that I will always keep. I think this flower works for a masculine card.

This is called a tent card. It measures 81/2x41/4. I received one from my friend Marcy. It fits in a regular envelope. She gave me the dimentions so I was able to make one. I used my round Nestie and to make the purple circle. I put 2 Nesties together and used repositional tape to hold them together and then ran it through the Cuttlebug. I used the center circle to make the doily die which is the background for the inside of the card. I had to rip it apart several times before I got it right. I used the Nestie fancy tags for the sentiment. I have never put 2 together but liked the way it looked. Turned out cute I thought.
