I saw this color combo on someones blog. Would never have used these colors together but I think it works for a guy card very well. I worked on my birthday cards for the VA on Sun. afternoon so you will be seeing some of them this week.

Daisies

Good Morning:

Here's a card I made a while back for shoe box. The background was made using a Cornish Heritage Farms background stamp. I used the stamp press and it worked really well. Too back that CHF is no longer in business. Their stamps were red rubber with EZmount. Very good quality. The gal in charge of shoe box for that month gave us all a tin of flowers and we were to use them on a card. Mostly the flowers were Christmas colors and I had a hard time coming up with something. This stamp is an old one that I have used a lot. It was made by DiNami.

Here is a card I made yesterday. Very simple but I think really pretty. Seems like I have made a lot of pink cards lately. All StampinUp product used on this card. I really do love their cardstock.

I have a card that my friend Kathie made. It is using old olive, pear pizzazz with very vanilla and pretty in pink. The stamp set is Watercolor Trio in the Summer mini catalog.

Kaycee's get well card

Kaycee was in an auto accident and her leg was seriously mangled. Her leg from mid calf down to her ankle is gone. She had to have a rod put in to secure her ankle and muscle was removed from some place and attached, then a skin graft and I am sure many more procedures before she is done. Such a heartbreaking thing for her family and quite an ordeal for a 16 yr. old. I ask my neighbor (grandmother) if I could send some cards. This is the first. I really don't know her so I don't know if she likes girlie things. Anyway, I decided to send Murphy. He was retired several years ago and I have sorta adopted him as my official get well card. I hope Murphy puts a smile on her face!

Here is my card. I used my new set from StampinUp called Just Believe. The card base is Rose Red. I used the lattice StampinUp embossing folder and embossed the image with white embossing powder. Then I took a sponge and sponged on the Rose Red ink. I wiped the embossed image off with a paper towel and used Rose Red ribbon. I added the butterflies that are embosslits called Beautiful Wings. (StampinUp) and added the tiny pearls.

Eve's card was made using this cling Hero Arts stamp set. I totally messed this card up. I wish I had taken a picture of the girls cards because they each color beautifully. I think I probably got a D or "needs to improve" in first grade on coloring. I added the ladybugs on my card because I had a shadow when I stamped the saying on the card. I find that I really have to be careful when I ink these cling stamps or I get a shadow.

Here is the card Pam made using a Hero Arts stamp. The paper is beautiful. I did not get the paper right at the top so there was a little white showing. That bugged me so I use a small piece of black paper with a punched edge to cover that up. The button is really pretty too I hope that shows in the picture.

Shoe Box on Sat.

On Sat. I hosted our shoe box group. We always have so much fun. I ask if it was OK to post the cards here and they said yes. Kathie made this card using retired StampinUp colors and the Vintage Vogue stamp set.

Making Your Own Glimmer Mist

This is a birthday card for a friend. I am not sure that the Glimmer Mist will show up but I made it by using equal parts of rubbing alcohol & distilled water and adding about an 1/8 teaspoon of PearlEx. I didn't fill the bottle to the top so that there is "shaking room" thus preventing the sprayer from clogging up. It is a pretty sparkle. I have not used the dry wall tape in a long time. The stamp is a Penny Black that I embossed with white embossing powder.

Masculine card

Well, I saw a card made with the Rubbernecker "tools" rubber stamps and had to have the set. Bought the tool chest, the background, the whole nine yards and have never been happy with anything I did with this set. Rubbernecker has great red rubber mounted on EZ mount. There service is terrific.

Shaker card

This card is easy to make. I used a Nestie to cut it out and then a smaller one to make the frame. Love the soft pink.

Yellow & Blue Again

Yellow and blue again. Am I in a rut? The yellow pieces I scored with my Scor-It. I know, that took some time but it beats dusting! I made this card for one of my monthly swaps. I have found that when you use a detailed die cut if you put waxed paper in the die, then the card stock it seems to release better. This is the flur de lis pendant die. The flower is a Magenta stamp. I don't use it much. Maybe because I have so many flower stamps. Will that keep me from buying more flower stamps? absolutely not! I colored with water color pencils and used a stickles dot for the center of the flowers.

I love the simplicity of this card. I used a Nestie for the flower and the center is a Martha punch. I put a little dab of stickles in the center. The embossing folder is elegant bouquet that I positioned so that the embossed part was at the top.

Hey Cupcake

This is one of the cards I made for the August birthdays @ the VA. Pretty simple but what's not to like about navy, red & Sahara Sand. This DeNami stamp is REALLY old but I like it. Cupcake stamps are popular right now so I decided to get some more mileage out of it. Hope your weekend is super!

Here is another card I made using the StampinUp Embrace Life set. I embossed the flowers with black embossing powder and then cut them out. I really like white, black and red together.

Masking tape background

Good Morning:

Here is a card I made for one of the birthday boys @ the VA hospital. I went to my card parts box and found this masking tape background. I used blue and green distress inks then inked with Versamark and clear embossing powder.

I am trying to send the card again.

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Well, that was not a very good picture of the sympathy card. Our granddaughter takes wonderful pictures. She would cringe if she sees this.

I finally got a decent picture of Evan's birthday card. Those kids love to fish & had a great time in Indiana fishing all hours of the night. I used clear embossing powder on the fish and made the bubbles with glossy accents.

I had to make a sympathy card. They are hard for me. I used Rich Razzleberry and white. I was happy with the results. The stamp is Endless Creations that I bought at a convention because they were doing something spectacular with it. Of course when I got home I forgot what they had done with it. I love the saying on the inside. "When someone you loves becomes a memory the memory becomes a treasure". I am really loving the new StampinUp embossing folder Lattice. I have a Marvy Matchables ink pad that is #63 Wine. It matches the Razzleberry very well. Makes me happy when that happens so I don't have to buy another stamp pad.

I made half of the birthday cards I need for the patients @ the VA hospital on Sat. Some were reruns, I just used different colors.

This card is one I used in a swap a couple of months ago. The stamp is from a set called Embrace Life. I like all the stamps in that set.
