Posting late today because I couldn't get my face out of a good book I was reading. I was playing with 2 step stamping and used the Greenhouse Garden set. I used White and more mustard. Colors I rarely use. The make a wish saying is from Gina K Designs. This border punch is from EK success. Very pretty but I have only used it 5 times and it broke. I bought it when we were in Williamsburg so I cannot return it to the store. I need to try to find someone @ EK success to see about replacing it. I just hate hassles like that.

I played around with this card on Christmas Eve. The stamp is a solid stamp that is a Magenta stamp that I have had for a long time. I don't use it much but think it is really nice for masculine cards. Again I used paper to use as an accent instead of using ribbon. I like this layout a lot. I hope you do too.

Here is Kermit's birthday card that I made using Thoughts & Prayers stamp set. I probably would not have bought this set if I had know it was double mounted. I should have read the details. Says it right there in the catalog. I bought this paper @ Joanns when I visited Houston. I thought it looked very masculine. The punch is flur de lis from EK Success.

Here's the card I made for Benjamin for his birthday. I have always thought it was awful to have a birthday so close to Christmas. Sharing your birthday with someone else was always OK with Patty & I bur I am not sure how the boys feel. Maybe they should celebrate in August. I'll show you Alex's card tomorrow. Gotta get em in the mail today since their birthday is Tues.

This is my swap card for Dec. Sadly the swap is closing down. I will certainly miss all the great cards and especially the good ideas. I have always loved the Not Quite Navy card stock combined with Rose Red. I used the "lily" from Fifth Ave. Floral and used a finger dauber to apply NQN to the edges of the flowers. The border punch is one I got when we were in Williamsburg. It is EK Success but I don't know the name of it. Trying to figure out what size to make the rose red cs and then punch was a challenge but it turned out OK.

I have been unable to post. Don't know why but it always happens @ the first of the month. November pictures come up. Hope to get it done today.
Anyway, I only have 3 birthday cards to make for the guys @ the VA. I only had to make one card. I rarely stamp on printed paper but this paper looks like water to me so I used it. It is paper that was given to me by Kathie and it was her idea to stamp a light house on it. Doesn't show up very well. I am sure the photographer has something to do with it.

Here's my first card using the Vintage Vogue StampinUp set. I really like it and of course I love the Chocolate Chip and Rose Red CS together. I am using a lot of the Natural Ivory too. I off stamped the flowers so there would be more of a contrast between it and the Flur de lis Nestie. Finally found the secret to using these intricate dies . . . waxed paper then the card stock and have patience! I stamped the bottom on the inside of the card which I liked too. Just added a little something to the plain paper.

Here's the card I made for Shoe Box Exchange last Sat. The theme was houses. I don't have any house stamps. This bird house is as close as I could come. Sharon made a cute bird house and gave us the pattern. I will make one soon. It is really cute. Here's the inside. You can't see the inside. It says "You're under the weather. I used Glossy Accents to do the rain drops which doesn't show in the picture either. It is a StampinUp set.

Here's a clear stamp from a set put out by Hero Arts. I really like all the flowers in this set, got it home and thought what ever am I going to do with these flowers. Made a cute birthday card that was quick & easy. I really resisted the urge to use Crumb Cake instead of Very Vanilla, just love that color combo. I'm back and hopefully this is "new & improved" version of the post I made earlier today. I thought the card was too plain so I colored the center of the flower using my new found tool, the blender pen, using Baja Breeze. Not much of an improvement so I added the rhinestone. I played around with ribbon but decided to send as is. I am using this as my swap card for this month. Here's the inside of the card, another funky flower

I love this stamp! I made this card yesterday. It was so quick and easy to make but I think it is very pretty. The set is a level 2 hostess set and thanks to Celia it is mine! I wish StampinUp had not retired this color, I have used it a lot!

At our Oct. shoe box exchange the theme was winter. Eve did something very interesting. She bought a kit with the makings for 6 cards. Every one was different but all in the same colors, blue & brown. Here's my card. The snowflakes are stickers so there is no stamping on the card at all. I stamped the Happy birthday on the front and then computer generated a saying that Sharon used on her card. Loved the saying "Friends are like snowflakes, Each with their own unique design. The colors are refreshing, not the typical red and green

I had to have this stamp set and have never used it until Sunday when I was designing a card for my shoe box group. I am using it on Tues. and really like how it turned out, however, yesterday I made a card that I like just as much. I stamped the background with mulled lavender and then stamped the flower with dusty concord ink. The tag is fancy tags by Spellbinders. I used the fancy swirls from that same set and off stamped with dusty concord and just hit the bottom edge on the inside of the card. Next I am going to try to use the hummingbird on a card. Lots of ways to use this stamp set. Oh, I forgot to tell you that I stamped this flower and then began cutting it our to use as a mask whee! Decided to try to stamps the background and then just stamp the flower over it. I think it worked well and if you use a very light background you don't have to mask yipee!

Today I made a card just for fun! I have been doing some stamping but only stuff for the point. This card uses Rose Red, black and white. I like it, hope you do too! I really should be working on my two shoe box card designs for this coming week. I did not have any black wide ribbon so I used paper and used the SU embossing folder Square Lattice. Love that folder. The Nestie is from the labels 4 set.

At shoe box we made a card using gray & pink that Julie designed. I really liked it. I had to send a card to a friend who is in the hospital so here's my card. My shading on the basket is a little better and I sorta like the flowers too. The stamp is a cling mount from Hero Arts.

I really like this stamp that Denise loaned me. I tried embossing it and it was blah. I stamped and colored some of the images and did not like that either. I decided to use my Creole Spice stamp pad and liked that a lot.
This was my least favorite that I made. Too dull for me. I used my new StampinUp vintage wallpaper folder for the background and the Shara Sand SU paper. Again I used my Creole Spice stamp pad.

Today I have a black and silver card. For some reason when I was designing this card I thought of spurs, as silver in color so here's what I came up with. Sure do wish I had bought that stamp. Just may have to call and have her ship it.

Here's another Texas card. I have trouble using small stamps but I like how this turned out. I bought a pad of paper @ Tuesday Morning for $4.99. It is really nice quality and would be $20 @ Michaels. I used Fray Check on the tape which worked very well. Clean & simple, here it is!

Here's another Tx. card. I got the idea from Julie when she did the triangles on her shoe box card. I like that look a lot! I also discovered that the Tim Holtz distress inks stay wet long enough for you to emboss which is what I did on this card using Faded Jeans. It doesn't show up well but I used a little bit of the denim ribbon on the side. Perfect for a Tx. card.

I am making a set of Texas cards to sell @ the bazaar. Here is one that I was inspired by the ribbon. I found it when I was rummaging around in the store room @ the point. I embossed the stamp with Devils Food powder. The stamp is Deadbeat Designs.

I am making Tx. cards for the bazaar. Denise was kind enough to let me use her Tx. stamps. She hasn't even used them yet. I am having fun with them. The first one I knew what I was going to do when I saw the stamp. I have a Tx. shaped punch which I think balanced this card.

Here's the card I made for my second shoebox group. The background is masking tape. You tear the tape into small pieces. When you have the piece covered you need to burnish it so it does not come up when you do the next step. That is called direct to paper. You start with your lightest color and lightly smooch the ink over the tape. I turn it over on a piece of scrap paper and blot it a little, then add the next color. You can use as many colors as you like but need to go from lightest to darker and then darkest. I sometime go in with a stipple brush and as some of the lighter colors. Here we used Baja Breeze and Dusty Concord. Next we sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heat set it. Again I used the StampinUp set called Just Believe and the background is stamped with VersaMark using Elements of Style which is also a set from StampinUp.
Here's the card I made for one of my swap groups. I did not have any red flowers and thought red would look better than the white I had so I got out my Memories red stamp pad and pushed the flower down into the pad with an eraser. Still got inky fingers but I achieved what I set out to do. I let the flowers dry and then added Stickles in red and a rhinestone. I decorated the inside with a retired stamp from StampinUp. I am trying to decorate the inside of my cards. I will try to post both pictures in this entry but have never been successful. Here goes!

I am wondering why "Kraft: paper never appealed to me before it became Crumb Cake. Here is a card I made for one of my shoe boxes. I love the color combo. and want to try it with Bordering blue, perhaps on a Texas card.

Today I will show you two cards I made using a StampinUp button die. I love the look of buttons on cards but the extra postage is a downer, have to take it to the Post office etc. On both these cards I used Glossy Accents and I think it really does look like a button.
